Elkhart Co. Homicide Unit investigating shooting that seriously injured 14-year-old

ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Homicide Unit is now investigating a shooting that caused life threatening injuries to a 14-year-old boy.

The shooting happened Saturday just before 4 p.m. in the alley of the 1000 block of McKinley Street.

When Elkhart Police responded to the scene, they located a 14-year-old boy with a gunshot wound that was considered life-threatening.

On Monday, the Elkhart County Homicide Unit was asked to work the case.
