Early morning stabbing leads to one arrest

SAINT JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- A man has been arrested following an early morning stabbing incident in Saint Joseph County.

Just after 1:50 am, county officers were called to the 45000 block of Terrace Lane for reports of a stabbing.

When they arrived, they noticed a vehicle trying to leave the scene. They initiated a traffic stop and 23-year-old Preston Bailey got out of the vehicle. Bailey was then taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

At the same time, additional officers discovered a second victim, also sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. That individual was taken to the hospital and has since been released.

Following medical treatment, Bailey was taken to the county detective bureau, interviewed and ultimately taken to the St. Joseph County Jail.

Bailey was arrested on preliminary charges of Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Invasion of Privacy.

The case has been sent to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office for formal charges.
