SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- It's the return of the fall favorite in South Bend, with the annual Cops and Goblins Trick or Treating event, with dozens of local organizations showing up to dole out candy.
Now in its 10th year, the celebratory tradition is put on every October by the South Bend Police Department.
This year, the trick or treating moved inside the Century Center due to the ongoing renovations at Four Winds Field.
Organizers tell ABC57 that the enjoyment extends far beyond the candy and trick or treating.
"This is a really important event for us, because as a police department, oftentimes we see people on not-so-great days, and this is a happy day. This is a positive thing. So, we're able to give candy to people connect that way, lots of cool costumes. It's just our it's our favorite event of the year," stated South Bend Police Department Director of Communications Ashley O'Chap.
Organizations on site offering youth resources brought their own candy, totaling over 4,000 pieces for the eager tricker or treaters.
