Driver sent to hospital and cited following two-vehicle crash Wednesday

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to the area of C.R. 2 and C.R. 39 in Middlebury around 4:12 a.m. Wednesday for a two-vehicle crash.
The report states a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by 43-year-old Merlin J. Lambright of Etna Green, was traveling northeast on C.R. 2 just east of C.R. 39.
At the same time, a 2019 Chevrolet Trax, driven by a 55-year-old Elkhart man, was traveling southwest on C.R. 2 just east of C.R. 39.
Deputies say Lambright was traveling at speeds too fast for road conditions and went left of center into the lane in front of the Chevy, crashing into its front-end and driver's side.
Both vehicles sustained heavy front-end and driver's side damage.
Lambright was taken to Goshen Hospital with complaints of pain.
No injuries were reported for the driver of the Chevy.
Lambright was cited for traveling at speeds too fast for road conditions and driving left of center.
