Driver cited for Following too Closely after three-vehicle crash
ABC 57 ELKHART, Ind. -- A 20-year-old driver was cited for Following Too Closely after getting into a three-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on S.R. 119 near C.R. 11, says the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office.
Around 5:08 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, 2018 Chevrolet Custom box truck driven by 20-year-old Noah Crist was headed southwest on S.R. 119, east of C.R. 11, right behind a 2011 Chrysler Town and Country slowing down to turn left.
Authorities say Crist was following the Town and Country too closely, hitting the vehicle before going left of center and hitting a 2012 Toyota Rav 4 driving northeast on S.R. 119, west of C.R. 11.
Neither Crist nor the Town and Country's driver and passengers reported any injuries, but the Rav 4's driver received a hip injury and head pain, leading to her being transported to the hospital.
Crist was cited for Following Too Closely Causing Injury and Left of Center Causing Injury.
