Three people in critical condition after crash in Marshall County

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. - Three people are in critical condition following a crash in Marshall County Sunday night.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Dept. says they received a call about it shortly after 8 Sunday night.

Investigators say two vehicles were involved in the collision on US-31.

They say a truck crashed into a car that had two people in it.

The truck caught fire and ended up off the side of the road.

Police believe the driver of the truck was pulled from the vehicle by citizens passing by the scene.

The driver of the truck and the two people in the car were all rushed to Memorial Hospital.

Police say it appears alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

The driver of the truck is identified as Arturo Mendez of White Pigeon.

The two people in the car were identified as Jarrod Nichols of Milan, Ind. and Riley Duerstock of Batesville, Ind.
