Couple accused of deadly hit-and-run inside Elkhart County Jail

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – The couple accused of being involved in a deadly hit-and-run are inside the Elkhart County Jail.
According to jail records, both Penelope and Leonard Grosswiler are listed as active inmates in the Elkhart County Correctional Complex.
Calls and emails have been placed to County Jail officials to get more information about when the suspects were booked.
Tuesday, Vicki Becker the Elkhart County Prosecutor announced charges against the Grosswilers.
Penelope, 40, is facing three counts of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. She also has other charges.
Leonard, 42, is accused of obstruction of justice.
