UPDATE: Suspect in SWAT incident in critical condition from police gunfire

UPDATE DEC. 22: The South Bend Police Department says the investigation into Sunday's officer-involved shooting.

Police say this includes obtaining interviews and processing evidence.

Authorities say at last check the suspect’s condition was critical.

UPDATE TWO: The South Bend Police Department released that the suspect was wounded from police gunfire and transported to a local hospital for treatment. 

UPDATE: Three adults and two children have been safely removed from the home. 

A suspect has sustained injures and was transported to a local hospital. 

Police say this was an isolated incident. 

SWAT operation began at approximately 3:30 p.m.

The case is now moving to the South Bend Police Department for investigation.

ORIGINAL STORY: MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Metro County SWAT responded to a scene in the 600 block of Conner Drive in Mishawaka Sunday morning.

Mishawaka police say that a man has barricaded himself inside a home in the area.
