Elkhart Police investigating serous bodily crash involving motorcycle and semi-truck on US 33 and Main Street

 ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart Police Department is investigating a serious bodily injury crash involving a motorcycle and semi-truck that took place on US 33 and US 20.  The call came around 9 pm about reports of a semi-truck vs. motorcycle crash with injuries near South  Main Street. The investigation shows that the semi was traveling northbound on South Main Street and was attempting to turn left when a southbound motorcycle crashed into the semi.

Elkhart Fire Department personnel rendered first aid and transported the 26-year-old motorcycle driver to the hospital for evaluation and treatment of serious bodily injuries.

At last information, he was in critical condition.


The 41-year-old male semi driver was uninjured. He remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The Elkhart Police Department Crash Reconstruction Team was activated, and this remains an active and ongoing investigation.  Additional information will be released as it becomes available
