ELKHART, Ind. -- Concord Junior High School broke its fundraising record for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The school raised more than $44,000 to grant three sick children’s wishes.
Two children wished for trips to Disney theme parks and another wished for a service dog.
The students involved said it felt overwhelming to make these wishes come true for other children.
"Exhilarated, a lot, just so many things happened and it just flew by me, like wind,” student Alyssa Toledo said.
The school was able to raise money through events like bake sales, carnival games, and family fun nights.
This year’s donations pushed the school’s total since 1995 to $430,000.
“It’s overwhelming, the feeling of giving and how you feel good after you’ve done a good deed for your community,” student Matthew Daub said.
