BERRIEN SPRINGS, Mich – The local Berrien Springs community rallied around the Teichman family Thursday evening to help during their trying time.
Local farmer Bill Teichman contracted the EEE virus in August and is still fighting for his life.
Students at Berrien Springs High School held a bake sale to contribute to the healthcare costs of the Teichman family.
The bake sale included cookies, cupcakes, and water in which all of the proceeds would be given to the Teichman family.
The Berrien County Health Department said the EEE threat will begin to diminish as the weather gets colder but they’re still monitoring the situation.
