Elkhart County Historical Museum hosts panel discussion about historical food production
Elkhart County Historical Museum BRISTOL, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Historical Museum is hosting a panel discussion on the historical foodways on Saturday, March 28, beginning at 2 p.m.
Attendees will hear panelists speak about seed saving, food sovereignty, increasing food diversity, sustainability, and more.
The discussion is free to the public and no registration is required.
Panelists include Christi Nickey of Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center, Tyler Dodson of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi, John Sherck of Sherck Seeds, and Jon Zirkle of Bushelcraft Farm.
“We’re looking forward to hearing what these experts have to say about how producing food can help us feel connected to the past,” said Jenifer Blouin Policelli, Curator of Education. “They have a wide range of knowledge and perspectives. Everyone who eats will have something to learn from them!”
