MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Protestors gathered Friday morning at approximately 9:30 on the corner of Grape Road and McKinley Avenue for an "Anti-Ice" protest.
Held near Representative Rudy Yakym's office, protestors are urging the block of funding for immigration and customs enforcement.
Protest organizer, Kyle Walker, told ABC57, "Our purpose out here is not to deliberately antagonize people. Our purpose here is to stand up for what we believe is right. I'm perfectly happy to talk to people about why I feel this way, and I will do my level best not to have it turn into some sort of shouting match."
Friday's protest was part of a nationwide shutdown over immigration crackdowns and recent shooting of two U.S. citizens.
