Cold and damp weekend, wet snowfall

The forecast for the weekend is unpleasant, cold and damp with rain/snow showers. Saturday is mostly lake effect, with most precipitation falling in Michigan, snow accumulation is light and temporary. The best chance of widespread snow is Sunday morning, with measurable snowfall possible, a slushy half inch-or-so or temporary accumulation. Temperatures struggle to reach 40, Sunday afternoon. The messy weather clears into Monday.

Snow: Predicting if a light amount of slushy snow will 'stick' is tricky, and while a half inch or inch may fall, it may not all accumulate at once. As of Friday afternoon, models hint that if it's slightly colder away from Lake Michigan, snow from a clipper system may favor slightly more snow accumulating south and east of South Bend. This forecast has low confidence given the temperature range 29°-34° Sunday morning.

Tonight: Light snow/mix possible. Low 33.
Saturday: Rain/snow showers. High 42.
Sunday: Snow, rain/snow showers. High 40.
Monday: Mostly cloudy. High 42.
