The high pressure responsible for the warmer and sunny weather yesterday is actively being kicked out by a trough of low pressure and subsequent surface low this morning. A low level jet feeding into an approaching cold front ushers in widespread showers and a few brief downpours out the door this morning, meaning most of Michiana can expect rain and generally gloomy conditions for the AM commute. This afternoon is generally clear and dry, but a few lake enhanced showers and storms post-front are expected until 3-4 PM EDT. Highs reach the low 70s today but fall back into the upper 40s overnight. Mostly sunny to partly cloudy conditions occupy the rest of this week and the weekend as well with high temperatures ranging from the upper 60s to mid 70s. Michiana will see highs close to 80 degrees return on Labor Day.
Today: AM rain. High 72.
Tonight: Mostly clear. Low 48.
Friday: Partly cloudy. High 68.
Saturday: Sunny. High 74.
