Car catches fire after two-vehicle crash in Fulton County

FULTON COUNTY, Ind. - Fulton County Sheriff's Office received a report of a car crash with unknown injuries and one vehicle was possibly on fire.

It all happened early Friday morning according to authorities.

When emergency personnel arrived, they found two vehicles were involved.

Both were off the roadway on the southwest side of the intersection of US 31 and West 3rd Street.

A white 1997 Ford Truck was on fire.

The Ford, operated by 27-year-old Robert Tuttle, was traveling west on 3rd Street and crossed into the median, according to officials.

Authorities say Tuttle began to cross the southbound lanes when he was struck by a white 2015 Chevrolet Truck, operated by 20-year-old Devon Cox who was traveling southbound.

The impact caused the Ford to rollover several times and down an embankment before catching on fire.

Cox was not injured.

Tuttle was flown from the scene to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne by helicopter with life threatening injuries.

We have no further details at this time.
