Buchanan Community Schools launches bond facts website ahead of May primary

BUCHANAN, Mich. - Officials with Buchanan Community Schools launched a new website on Friday that explains a bond proposal voters will decide on in the May 2 primary.

The bond would put more than $34,000,000 toward physical and fundamental improvements in the corporation that were identified through facility assessments and community input.

One of the projects would be the first major renovation to Buchanan High School in more than 30 years.

Other potential projects include renovating classrooms, installing new security measures and improving auditorium lighting, sound and curtains.

According to officials, the $34 million for renovations would save voters $84 million for entirely new buildings.
