BREAKING: Two confirmed dead in Elkhart County plane crash

UPDATE: Around 4 p.m. the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office confirmed that two people died in the crash.

"The initial responding officers located a small, fixed wing aircraft in a wooded area," the ECSO said. "Preliminary investigation revealed two occupants in the aircraft were deceased."

The location of the crash was also more precisely located as being in the 52000 block of CR21.

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Dispatch says a report of a plane crash in the 19000 block of County Road 8, near Bristol, came in at 2:20 p.m. this afternoon. 

There is little information at this time, and the scene is still active. The public is advised to avoid the area.

There were injuries, but it is unclear if anyone was sent to the hospital. It is also unclear how many people were on the plane.
