UPDATE: Suspect arrested in relation to Miami Hills Apartments shootings

UPDATE: The South Bend Police Department announced on Wednesday afternoon that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting that wounded three people at a South Bend apartment complex, one of whom was 16 years old. 

"Through an investigation by the South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit, 26-year-old Jarod Pigee was identified as a suspect," SBPD said. "On Wednesday, June 5, Pigee was arrested on several preliminary charges related to the shooting. Pigee was ultimately transported to the St. Joseph County Jail, where he awaits a formal charging decision from the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office."

SBPD says the investigation is still active and reminds the public that all persons are presumed innocent until/unless convicted in a court of law.

ORIGINAL: SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Three people are injured in a shooting at Miami Hills Apartments.

South Bend Police were called to 3400 High Street at Miami Hills for a shooting around 12:20 a.m.

When they arrived on the scene, they found three victims with gunshot wounds, who were then taken to the hospital.

"The case remains very active as our Violent Crimes Unit was called in during the early morning hours to lead the investigation," said South Bend Police Captain Jason Biggs. "The individuals that were shot are recovering from their injuries at local hospitals. Their ages have been released as 16-, 26-, and 32-years-old.

ABC57 is told their injuries are considered non-life threatening.

One person is in custody in relation to the shooting.
