NIPSCO releases outage restoration estimates, some as far out as Tuesday, June 16
INDIANA -- The most recent update from NIPSCO:
Outage Update June 14, 2026, at 7 a.m. CT (Next Update at 11 a.m. CT)
Restoration efforts continue with crews making steady progress. As of this morning, approximately 83% (71,800) of the 86,640 customers that were impacted by Thursday’s storms have had power restored. Please know that our crews are fully mobilized and actively working to continue restoring service to the remaining (14,800) impacted customers as safely and quickly as possible.
We know it can be frustrating to see some areas restored faster than others. The recent severe weather included multiple reported tornadoes and caused significant damage to critical infrastructure that may not be visible but are essential to restoring service safely.
While some outages can be restored relatively quickly, others require more extensive repairs due to the level and complexity of that damage. We understand how difficult it is to wait, and we truly appreciate your patience as our crews work through these more complex repairs as safely and quickly as possible.
Based on the extent of damage, crews are working toward restoring approximately 90% of customers by Tuesday, June 16 at 6 p.m. CT.
