Both drivers sent to hospital following two-vehicle crash Thursday morning

ABC 57

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to the intersection of Yankee Street and Carberry Road Thursday around 7:46 a.m. for a two-vehicle crash.

Authorities' investigation determined a vehicle, driven by a 57-year-old Osceola woman, was traveling west on Yankee Street toward Carberry Road.

At the same time, authorities say a vehicle, driven by 54-year-old Jovita Holly of Niles, was traveling north on Carberry Road when she failed to stop at the stop sign.

Holly's vehicle then struck the other vehicle.

Holly and the other driver were both taken to the South Bend Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.

Law enforcement say drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
