Both drivers cited in two-vehicle crash in Elkhart County
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at C.R. 38 and C.R. 9 on Monday, around 2:42 p.m.
The report states a 2019 Toyota Prius, driven by 73-year-old Brian Gravenhorst of Aurora, Ill., was traveling north on C.R. 9 and stopped at C.R. 38.
A 1999 Dodge Durango, driven by 55-year-old Bartolo Gonzalez of Goshen, was traveling east on C.R. 38 approaching C.R. 9.
Gravenhorst then continued north into the intersection, failing to yield to the right of way to Gonzalez, according to the report.
The two vehicles then crashed, causing front end damage to the Durango and driver side damage to the Prius.
Both drivers were taken to Elkhart General Hospital for chest pain.
Gravenhorst had one passenger who reported no injuries.
Gravenhorst was cited for Failure to Yield to Right of Way.
Gonzalez was cited for Driving While Suspended.
Both men were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
