Bicyclist dies from injuries sustained in hit and run

LA GRANGE COUNTY, Ind. -- The La Grange County Sheriff's Office says Richard Bontrager has died as a result of the injuries he sustained in a traffic crash early Tuesday morning.
Bontrager was riding his bicycle northbound on CR 00 EW around 5:30 a.m. when he was struck from behind by a vehicle that fled the scene, reports said.
Bontrager was left lying in the road and a second vehicle hit him, but the driver stayed at the scene.
The sheriff's office was notified of Bontrager's death on Wednesday.
