Finally feeling like fall
BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- It was the first day of classes for Benton Harbor Area Schools today, and it was the first day of school with a new leader as well.
Dr. Simone Griffin was hired over the summer as district superintendent, replacing Dr. Kelvin Butts who left after three years. Dr. Griffin told us that her goal is to make Benton Harbor a place where kids of all ages can come and learn.
She also shared with us that the district will be doing student assessments this fall to get an idea on how every student is doing in key subject areas.
