Benton Harbor Area Schools begins search for newest superintendent

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- It was released on Tuesday that Benton Harbor Area Schools has officially launched its search for a new superintendent.
For the search, the school district has hired recruitment firm Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates.
"The Board of Education is excited to embark on our collaborative relationship with Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates, to select a transformative and forward-thinking Superintendent who demonstrates a strong commitment to our district's mission, vision, and goals," Board President Dashuna Robinson said.
The BHAS Board of Trustees said in a joint statement that it hired the firm to "guide the district through this critical transition of leadership," and that "the search will be comprehensive, inclusive, and transparent, with a focus on finding a superintendent who is committed to the academic success and well-being of all BHAS students."
As part of the process, the firm will engage with key Benton Harbor community stakeholders, including students, families, staff, and community members, through focus groups, public forums, and other means, to gather input that will shape the selection of the next Superintendent.
"We remain dedicated to the success of Benton Harbor Area Schools and will continue to prioritize the academic achievement and prosperity of our district,” Robinson added. “We value the input and knowledge of our community stakeholders and look forward to sharing this journey with each of you as we pursue the selection of a Superintendent who will elevate our district to new heights. The BEST is yet to come!"
