ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich.-- At 5:40 p.m. on Friday, May 23, Michigan State Police responded to a two-vehicle traffic crash in Constantine Twp.

A passenger car driven by a 22-year-old male accompanied by a 23-year-old female passenger was seen, through dashcam footage, driving east bound on N. River Rd entering US 131 Hwy. 

Authorities say the passenger vehicle failed to come to a complete stop, then crossed paths with a semi-truck and trailer. The 40-year-old male semi-truck driver was not injured in the crash, but the occupants of the passenger vehicle were pronounced deceased on scene. 

Both occupants were wearing their seatbelts, while alcohol and drug contents are unknown.

The semi-truck driver was also wearing his seatbelt, while alcohol and drug contents are not suspected. 

The crash remains under investigation.
