Benton Charter Township Police investigate a shooting

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – Benton Charter Township Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place in Benton Harbor, Mich. on Saturday.

The officers were dispatched to E. Main and Pine Streets for reported gun shots.

Once arrived, the officers noticed blood on the pavement in the 900 block of Main street.   

On the scene, police were notified of a gun shot victim at Spectrum Health Lakeland.

Police say they made contact with witnesses at Spectrum Health Lakeland, who say they had attended a party, heard multiple gun shots and discovered the victim had been shot in the face.

According to the police, the victim was identified as 30-year-old Jermaine Moore.

Benton Township Police were advised that Moore was being transported to Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids for further treatment.

No suspect or suspects have been located at this time.
