South Bend International Airport will feature new local food options

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend International Airport held a ribbon cutting ceremony where they will offer new food options.

This is part of a concession overhaul inside the terminal right before and after you go through the TSA security checkpoint

"Our people are serving passengers, and a local South Bend brand has become part of the experience of traveling through this airport," said Austin Sejnoha, the Executive Vice President of Skydine.

The airports upgrade is part of the recurring investment from the city of South Bend and St. Joseph County.

The new restaurants will be Dunkin Donuts, Jimmy Johns, and the Lauber Overlook.

"Having those well-known national brands but also having a nice, curated mix of local brands is extremely important. It appeals to every traveler. but for us at Skydine, it appeals to our ethos," said Sejhona.

This was only phase one of the concession redevelopment; phase two will be a restaurant and bar before TSA with grab and go options.

Then past TSA will be a full-sized version of the Lauber and the South bend Farmers Market.
