SOUTH BEND, Ind.——
The annual Beacon Children’s Hospital NICU reunion brought all the wild things out to the Potowatomi Zoo, Sunday afternoon.
The theme was be wild and wander, and they weren’t talking about the animals.
Plenty of little miracles walked around the zoo with their families. There were over 200 families in attendance, with over 1000 people, the biggest turnout they have seen in recent years. The day gave those who spent time in the NICU unit the opportunity to reunite with Beacon Staff members who became more like family over the course of their stays.
The families and staff members ABC57 caught up with all had their own story to share.
Beacon’s NICU director, Lisa Nichols told us how grateful they are for the fun filled day to bring everyone out free of the stress of the NICU.
A day as full circle for many, as a spin around the carousel.
