SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Saint Mary's College welcomed Tony Award-winning actress Phylicia Rashad for a cozy evening chat, diving into details on her acting career, including Empire, The Crossover, and the Emmy-nominated This Is Us.
It's part of the college's annual Margaret Hill Visiting Artists Series. This year's guest speaker is Phylicia Rashad, who led a master class with theater students on Monday, sharing artistic techniques and first-hand accounts.
"It's really important for people from all walks of life to hear what actors and directors have to say, because as creative people, we see the world in a different way, and sometimes in a more eye-opening way." said, Abigail Wojtaszek, a junior at Saint Mary's College. "And I think that getting to hear those experiences really helps shape a human person, and it really helps kind of shape the way that we view our own experiences and the way that we go about everyday life."
Rashad did touch on her time on The Cosby Show, said she looked forward to work every day because of the bonds she made with the kids and adults on the show.
