Arrest made in felony investigation

LA PORTE, Ind. -- On the morning of January 5th, the La Porte County Sheriff's Office responded to a call at The Hangar Grill Pub in connection with a woman who wanted to report a battery and being held at gun point. The 33-year-old victim identified the accused as 36-year-old Mikael Moreno.
The victim was invited to Moreno’s apartment and while she was there an argument took place between Moreno and the victim. The victim reported that he brandished a firearm, battered her and held her against her will.
The incident was assigned to Criminal Investigations Division for a follow up and following further investigation into this incident the La Porte County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office found probable cause and issued an arrest warrant for Moreno.
Moreno was arrested for the following:
Criminal Confinement with a deadly weapon, Level 3 Felony
Criminal Confinement, Level 3 Felony
Pointing a Firearm, Level 6 Felony
Battery with Injury Class A Misdemeanor
Moreno is currently in the La Porte County Jail and is being held on a 25,000 cash only bond.
