Arias asks jury for life sentence

MESA, Ariz. -- Convicted killer Jodi Arias addressed the jury in her murder trial and asked for life in prison on Tuesday.

In an interview, Arias said she would rather die than live out her life in prison but said she changed her mind because of her family.

"Each time I said that, though I meant it, I lacked perspective. Until very recently I could not have imagined standing before you and asking for life in prison," said Arias. "To me, life in prison was the most unappealing outcome I could possibly think of. I thought I'd rather die.".

This trial became such a circus that her own attorneys tried to quit the case.

Now the jury will decide if Arias lives or dies.
