Areon Halloway pleads guilty to theft after warehouse burglary arrest

St. Joseph County

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Areon Halloway, one of three men arrested in March after a warehouse burglary and police chase, pleaded guilty Thursday to theft under a plea agreement.

Halloway had originally faced burglary, theft, and resisting law enforcement charges. Court records show the burglary and resisting counts were dismissed as part of the deal.

Police said Halloway and two others were caught after crashing a U-Haul filled with more than $61,000 in stolen tools near U.S. 20.
