UPDATE: Amber Alert canceled for 6-month-old in Hammond
Hammond Police Department UPDATE: This Amber Alert has been canceled. The 6-month-old was found safe.
HAMMOND, Ind. -- A 6-month-old girl is believed to be in extreme danger after she was last seen in the early morning Thursday in Hammond, leading to a statewide Amber Alert being declared.
An Amber Alert was declared by Hammond Police Department around 7:36 a.m. Thursday for Devaeyah Lucas-Bell, a 6-month-old Black girl, with black hair and brown eyes. She is 22 inches tall and weighs 16 pounds.
Devaeyah was last seen wearing a white shirt and brown pants on Thursday at 4:20 a.m. in Hammond, Indiana. She is believed to be in extreme danger.
The alleged suspect is Deandry Sabbs, a 31-year-old man with black hair and brown eyes. Sabbs is 6 feet and 2 inches tall, weighs 208 pounds, and was last seen driving a gray 4-door Nissan sedan with an unknown Illinois license plate.
