Accident in Elkhart leaves one partially paralyzed

ELKHART, Ind. – The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office was called out to the scene of an accident just after 1:30 a.m. on Friday morning. Terry Diamond, 23, was driving north on County Road 22 when his vehicle left the road.

Diamond’s 2011 Chevrolet Impala ran off the east side of the road, causing him to lose control, reports said.

Police say the car rolled into a field, during which Diamond was thrown outside from a lack of wearing a seat belt.

Diamond was airlifted to South Bend Memorial Hospital.

No other vehicles were involved.
