UPDATE 4: South Bend police confirm that Geimisha Broadnax has now died from her injuries.

The shooting remains under investigation.

UPDATE 3: The names of the victims from the fatal shooting have now been released.

The call came in around 11:25 p.m. for a large fight, that was then updated to a shooting.

Once arriving on scene officers found three people suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

20-year-old Alaya Maez, 18-year-old Jo'Von Hopper, and 22-year-old Geimisha Broadnax.

Maez and Hopper were pronounced dead at the scene and Broadnax remains in critical condition at the hospital.

The South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is actively investigating this case.

UPDATE 2: Two of the three victims were pronounced dead, the third is in critical condition.

Identities are being withheld until families are notified.

UPDATE 1: SBPD confirming that three people have been transported to the hospital for injuries.

There is no word on their condition at this time.

ORIGINAL: SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Saint Joseph County dispatch has confirmed with ABC57 that the South Bend Police Department is responding to the report of "shots fired" in the 1300 Block of Bissell Street.

The call coming in at 11 p.m. Sept. 19, with the scene still currently active.

Police are asking the public to avoid the area at this time.
