SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- It was a sad week for the Notre Dame family with former head football coach Gerry Faust died Monday, Nov. 11, at the age of 89.
Faust finished his career in south bend with a 30-26 and 1 record, but he always loved Notre Dame.
A big part of that was the relationships he formed with his players.
From 1981 to 1985 he developed players like Mike Golic Sr., Dave Doers, and Greg Bell.
Faust even recruited one of the best Irish receivers of all time, Tim Brown.
The Heisman Trophy winner spoke with the ABC57 Kickoff crew about what Coach Faust meant to him.
