Granger man arrested following multi-state drug investigation
GRANGER, Ind. -- The Indiana State Police reports a multi-state drug dealing investigation which lasted around two and a half months led to the arrest of a 37-year-old Granger man on Jan. 9.
Police say they started the investigation in November 2024 after being contacted by the Southwest Enforcement Team (SWET) in Michigan regarding a Granger man who was identified and suspected of dealing drugs in their own investigation.
On Jan. 9, around 7:45 p.m., the report states members of SWET made a traffic stop on a vehicle on S. 11th Street near Bertrand Road in Berrien County.
The driver was identified as the 37-year-old Granger man who was the focus of this investigation.
Police say the suspect was found to have around four ounces of suspected methamphetamine in his possession.
Following the traffic stop, the report states ISP, along with members of the Mishawaka Police Department and South Bend Police Department, served a search warrant at an apartment in the 6000 block of Mission Trail in Granger.
According to the report, officers located two hydraulic fentanyl presses, around one and a half pounds of suspected methamphetamine, around two ounces of suspected fentanyl, a handgun, a rifle, and approximately $2,400 in United Stated currency inside the apartment.
The 37-year-old suspect was taken to the Berrien County Jail following the traffic stop in Michigan.
