Gunfire Erupts at Late Night Teen Party in South Bend
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- An illegal gathering at Boland Park in South Bend ended in gunfire early Sunday morning, sending two people to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and damaging multiple vehicles.
The shooting occurred just around 1 a.m. Monday morning and was captured on a nearby home surveillance camera obtained by ABC57. The audio reveals rapid gunfire lasting approximately 30 seconds, followed by several cars fleeing the area.
ABC57 spoke to two young women who were at the gathering, that set the scary scene. They said hundreds of recent high school graduates were in attendance.
One nearby resident, who did not want to appear on camera, said she was preparing for bed when she heard the shots and immediately realized it wasn’t fireworks.

SBPD shares a reminder that all city parks are open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and anyone on park property after hours is considered to be trespassing.
