88-year-old man dead after pick-up truck is struck by train

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department reports deputies responded to a report of a pick-up truck struck by a train in the area S.R. 331 and Illion Street around 10:14 a.m. on Saturday.

Authorities say the investigation determined a white Ford F-150, driven by 88-year-old Maurice Horn of Rochester, was traveling south on S.R. 331.

Deputies say Horn then drove around railroad crossing arms and was struck by a Norfolk Southern train traveling east.

Horn was pronounced dead at the scene.
