83-year-old woman injured in Cass County crash

CASS COUNTY, Mich. - The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports on May 30, around 10:02 a.m., deputies were called to investigate a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Dailey Road and Pine Lake Street in Jefferson Township.

Deputies' investigation shows that 17-year-old Tre Willard, of Edwardsburg, was traveling north on Dailey Road.

83-year-old Karolyn Young, of Niles, was traveling east on Pine Lake Street.

The report states Young failed to yield when crossing the intersection, causing the crash.

Young was taken to Saint Joseph Mishawaka Medical Center for injuries sustained from the crash.

Willard and Young were both wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Alcohol and drugs are not considered a factor in this crash.
