For the Love of Art Fair returns
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb and U.S. Secretary of Transportation, Elaine Chao, came to South Bend for the 80/90 PUSH Project Tuesday.
Together, the two officials cut the ribbon for the 70 mile reconstruction of the Indiana Toll Road.
During the ceremony, Gov. Holcomb said, “This is truly a historic day for our state because we’re not just cutting a ribbon on a single largest investment on our toll road since it opened when Riley, built this thing in 1954. But it’s also opening up a whole new possibility to connecting to the marketplace.”
Gov. Holcomb also says the state finished the PUSH Project under budget.
Secretary Chao believes a lot of this couldn’t have happened without Vice President, Mike Pence.
Secretary Chao wants the Hoosier state to know, “the President sent you his best regards. You know where his heart is. He never forgets Indiana.”
Chao also praised the public-private partnership.
The $200-million upgrade will now include 23 cameras that will feed video to Toll Road Officials.
