Parking restrictions announced for Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff

ST. JOSEPH, Ind. -- The bluff above Lake Michigan in St. Joe will host 172 artists from across the country this weekend as the 62nd Krasl Art Fair kicks off at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 13.

Later in the day, art enthusiasts can enjoy beer and wine, food trucks, and entertainment at the kickoff Block Party from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Krasl Art Center.

"Meet the exhibiting artists and mingle with others in the community to kick off this monumental event," organizers said of the Block Party.

The art fair will run 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

According to the St. Joseph Department of Public Safety, Lake Boulevard from Ship Street to Park Street will be closed at 6 a.m. Friday, along with the west half of the 500 block of Broad Street.

Authorities say the following parking lots will be closed both Saturday and Sunday early for artist parking and then opened at 10 a.m. both days for general parking:

  • City Parking lot #1
  • City Parking lot #3
  • City Parking lot #5
  • City Parking lot #6

"The festival neighborhood no parking zones will be in effect from Saturday July 13 thru Sunday July 14th," said Director of Public Safety Steve Neubecker. "The no parking zone is bordered by Broad to the north, Sutherland Avenue and Hoyt Street to the south, Lake Boulevard to the west and Wayne Street to the east. Streets running north-south will have no parking on the east side, and streets running east-west will have no parking on the south side."

Officials say there will also be no shuttle busses this year and spectators are encouraged to find on street parking.

No pets are allowed at the fair.
