$500 grants available to help fund neighborhood events
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Vibrant Neighborhoods Project is continuing to offer micro-grants to Elkhart County residents as financial assistance for neighborhood events.
Each grant will fund local residents with $500 to put towards either a neighborhood social event or to host a neighborhood clean-up event.
“The intent of this program is really to encourage neighborhoods in Elkhart County, however they choose to define themselves, to get together and do either a social or clean-up activity. It’s really to foster that engagement at the neighborhood level,” said Terry Mark, a spokesperson of the Elkhart County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
To date, the foundation has funded micro-grants for 20 Elkhart County communities and has funding to finance 20 more events.
Residents that attend an in-person application session could possibly receive instant approval.
An Elkhart session will be hosted at the High Dive Park Pavilion, 500 East Beardsley Avenue, on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
A Goshen session will be hosted at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 502 North Main Street, on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
