1-year-old dies after being found unresponsive

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Police were called Wednesday evening to the 500 block of S. Illinois Street after a 1-year-old was found unresponsive and not breathing, according to dispatch.
The call came in around 5:29 p.m.
The child was taken to Memorial Hospital and later died.
Dispatch could not provide any further information at this time.
