Clearing skies with fog possible Thursday morning
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Youth Service Bureau of St. Joseph County unveiled its new resource for homeless and at-risk teens in the community, Wednesday afternoon.
A brand-new Center for Youth Sucess is just about ready to open at 411 Caterina Street off McKinley Avenue where South Bend meets Mishawaka.
The state-of-the-art facility was partially funded by both cities who came together for the ribbon cutting along with other community partners.
The 22,000 square foot facility will bring all of YSB’s services, that were previously scattered across the county, under one roof., including an emergency shelter for those ages 14 through 21 experiencing homelessness.
The 8-million-dollar center was also made possible with the help of a number of donors.
"This is truly changing the trajectory of the entire community, and just being so visible now for young people to know that that we care for them and that if they're in crisis, we can help them navigate and know they aren't alone,” said Christina McGovern the CEO of the Youth Service Bureau of St. Joseph County.
Program is hoping to begin in the coming weeks, for more information visit.
