Red Cross called after Pangford Motel fire, woman injured

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- A motel has been evacuated after a fire began in a single room.

The Mishawaka Fire Department was called to Pangford Motel at 1640 East McKinley Avenue just after 10 p.m. on Tuesday.

The fire was contained to a single room and one woman was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. 

Red Cross is now involved in helping those displaced by the fire. It's not clear how many people were staying at the motel at the time.

The Mishawaka Fire Department continues to investigate how the fire started.
