CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 12 and Gumwood Road in Milton Township around 4:03 p.m., Monday.

Authorities' investigation determined a vehicle, driven by 64-year-old Jack Schram of Mishawaka, was traveling north on Gumwood Road at U.S. 12 when he rear-ended another vehicle.

The second vehicle's driver, a 55-year-old South Bend woman, was taken to St. Joe Medical Center for injuries sustained in the crash.

Deputies say both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Authorities don't believe alcohol to be a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
