Wightman Petrie hosts 4th Annual USO Golf Outing fundraiser

NAPPANEE, Ind. -- On Friday, Wightman Petrie, Inc. held their 4th Annual USO Golf Outing fundraiser at the McCormick Creek Golf Course in Nappanee. Golfers teed off for a good cause, with 100-percent of the funds raised going to the USO of Indiana.



The event kicked off with a performance of the National Anthem on trumpets by war veterans. The National Anthem was sung by Matt and Marty Lowe.


Lots of people were there, with 36 participating teams!


Everyone in attendance paid their respects to a few honored parents who lost loved ones killed in action in Iraq.


A 21-gun salute was presented by the Elkhart DAV.


A WWII T6 trainer flew over overhead as part of the service.


Families and friends honored service members by dedicating a hole in the service members’ name.


Wightman Petrie employees, family members, and friends pitched in by cooking hot dogs, driving the beverage carts, selling raffle tickets and many other odds and ends. Over $14,000 was raised, making this an exciting and successful event!



The USO is a non-profit organization that serves the men and women in the Armed Forces. The USO’s mission is to; lift the spirits of America’s troops and their families. It provides the troops with social welfare, spiritual, educational and entertainment needs along with the maintenance of morale of such men and women.
