Western Michigan University & Lake Michigan College reach transfer agreement

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- Lake Michigan College students who complete associate degrees in Exercise Science will soon be able to transfer to Western Michigan University's bachelor's degree program seamlessly, thanks to a new agreement between the schools.

The agreement is part of the MiTransfer Pathways in Exercise Science and Michigan Transfer Agreement.

After completing the program at LMC, students will then have the option of transferring to Western's Bachelor of Science program to further their education, even getting the chance to eventually earn a master's and doctoral degree at WMU.

This allows students to pursue careers ranging from exercise physiologists to occupational therapists.

Exercise Science is expected to grow by 13% over the next decade, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
